What Sets Our Ponds Apart from the Competition

Tampa is a growing city with an expanding and diversifying culture. The Tampa heat is intense for about half the year and although world-class beaches are at arm's length, they're not at our fingertips. Combine the drive for growth and success with long hot days and any person will be wishing for a bit or R&R. We're not all fortunate enough to be able to take a vacation as soon as we feel burnt out. That's why we need an ornamental pond to allow for a vacation-vibe in our backyards. The health benefits have been well established by experts so if you're in constant need of an easy, convenient recharge or a perfect location to separate yourself from the daily grind without leaving your home, consider the fact that a garden pond in Tampa can provide this and so much more.

The Background of Focal Point Ponds

Two people with different background and skill sets have come together to combine efforts in order to bring tranquility and peacefulness to anyone in need, while flexing their construction and design muscles at the same time. Cory and Ryan, with backgrounds in house rehabbing, general contracting, desiging, and marketing, had a passion for home ponds since childhood. They're now part of the rapidly growing pond business, helping Tampanians and Floridians realize their dreams of having a visually impressive koi pond for the enjoyment of themselves and their guests. They can help you create a feeling in your own backyard that usually requires a trip to the spa.

The idea behind Focal Point Ponds is exactly what it sounds like. We install fountains and ponds in backyards, front yards and even commercial spaces, because we want to help customers create a small or expansive ponds that checks every box, from wildlife to greenery to a full blown oasis. There are so many elements that can be added and created in and around a pond space that we want to push the boundaries of what is possible, thinking outside of the box while bringing creativity and collaboration to every project. Whether it's ordinary or extraordinary, we want to hear your ideas so we can begin breaking ground and getting closer to seeing that huge smile on your face at the job's completion.

Florida Ponds Come with Advantages

Although the heat and humidity can have us running for the AC some days, the Tampa weather sure does have some benefits when it comes to aqua features. Unlike many other parts of the country, there is little to no chance of our ponds freezing over. The main benefit that can be drawn from this is simply: less maintenance. When most trees in the country and dumping their leaf load onto the ground, a lot of the trees here will hold onto their leaves or not lose the entire amount. This helps keep our ponds cleaner and prevents our skimmers from getting overloaded. We still have maintenance, but it won't be as labor intensive as some other places.

Plants that are part of the pond may still require pruning but they're probably not going to die out completely each year. We can keep our water level at full capacity all year round instead of having to lower it as winter approaches. We don't need to cover or shutdown the pond and remove the pumps during winter in case the water freezes. And we sure don't have to empty the pond each year in anticipation of harsh snow and ice. These are just some of the advantages to maintaining a Florida pond. Other pages on our site go into the plethora of greenery options we have and what local Florida plants can thrive in and around your pond scape.
